An incredible Wildlife Safari that promises the very best wildlife viewing in Tanzania. Enjoy watching African wildlife as they roam freely, the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania. Marvel at the snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest free standing extinct volcano in the world, originally in Kenya but given to the Kaiser by Queen Victoria as she already had Mt Kenya! Witness the lush pastures of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, the world’s largest caldera, with its full kaleidoscope of African wildlife happily living in the bowl of the crater.

Tanzania’s best known asset is the Ngorongoro Crater, which forms part of the luxury Northern Safari Circuit, including Lake ManyaraTarangire and the famous Serengeti – which of course is also home to the annual wildebeest migration – the Northern Circuit has long been known to be one of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world, and the contrast between towering escarpments, soda lakes and short grass rolling plains cannot fail to win your heart.

DAY 1 ARUSHA, TANZANIA

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, located in Northern Tanzania. After Airport formalities, enjoy a private transfer on to your lodge, a peaceful retreat tucked within a large coffee plantation. Relax as you please.

DAY 2 ARUSHA – NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast in your lodge drive to Laker Manyara National Park where you will explore the magical tiny forested Park, with thousands of pink-hued flamingos lining its shore and some 400 species of birds spotted here. Your safari guide will diligently seek out the park’s unusual tree-climbing Manyara lions and blue monkeys to round out your photo gallery. Continue on to your beautiful lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 3 NGORONGORO CRATER

Rise early and have an early breakfast in lodge, a short drive will bring you to Ngorongoro where you will descend some 2,000 feet to explore Ngorongoro’s sprawling crater floor. Designated as one of the densest concentrations of game in Africa, the crater is home to numerous herds of elephants, large prides of lions, leaping gazelles and countless zebras and wildebeest. Witness the amusing antics at the hippo pool as you enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to your lodge in the afternoon. Tonight, stroll your landscaped hotel gardens and revel in the infinite stars sparkling in the skies.

DAY 4 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Depart your lodge in the morning and head towards the world renowned Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch, an informative visit to the pre-historic Olduvai Gorge on your way, the site of the Leakey family’s archaeological excavations which unearthed fossils of man’s earliest known ancestors. Enjoy a short lecture before visiting the sites’s museum where you will see the remains of the early man and tools he used. Afterwards, continue on to the famed Serengeti, the “endless plains” in the Maasai language, where more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thompson’s gazelle and a quarter million zebra gather for their annual migration, attracting large predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.

DAY 5 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

You experience excitement as you depart during the early splendor of an African sunrise for your first game drive of the day. You have an opportunity to collect a gallery of striking images as the morning unfolds: You have a possibility of watching a lioness relaxing after her morning hunt, alert elephants guarding their young and ungainly herds of wildebeest grazing alongside zebra and gazelle. Later return to your camp where you relax while the day cools down before setting out for your afternoon game drive.

DAY 6 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Exciting morning and afternoon game viewing activities, as your safari guide continues to lead you to spectacular locations of outstanding natural beauty where you can observe the wildlife at your leisure. Your adventure does not end there as back at camp the animals roam around at night, your immersion in this kaleidoscope of wildlife is like living a dream for even the most experienced of travelers.
