Lake Manyara is a protected area in Tanzania located in Manyara near Arusha region. It was established in 1960 by the Tanzania National Parks Authority and covers an area of 325 km2. The word “Manyara” comes from the Mbungwe tribe word “Manyero”, which means the place where animals drink water. So the presence of a lake in the area makes the park known as Lake Manyara.

After breakfast (between 8:00-8:30am) you will be driven from Arusha heading towards Lake Manyara where it takes 3 hours to drive (130 km). After completing registrations at Lake Manyara gate, the morning game drive will begin. After a 4 hr game drive you will have a picnic lunch getting ready to  proceed with an afternoon game drive.

Lake Manyara is the only place where you can see African lions climbing trees, also you will spot groups of elephants, wildebeest, giraffes, buffalo. zebras, impala, warthog, waterbuck, antelopes and larger collectons of baboons. Each sighting is as exciting as the last!
